Accommodation: Cold Water Ranch Lodge

The Cold Water Ranch Lodge will offer fully accessible respite accommodation at no charge to people living with disabilities in B.C. and their families and/or support staff. The lodge can be used for free by disability organizations as well, although a donation is recommended. The Cold Water Ranch Lodge is currently under construction: the foundation has already been poured. Check back regularly for updates!

Accessible Features

The Cold Water Ranch Lodge will be a fully accessible lodge with lift systems in the bedrooms. Through our research, surveys, and through collaboration with various disability organizations in BC, Abilitas is committed to making the Cold Water Ranch Lodge fully accessible. The Abilitas Foundation will provide commodes, handrails, grab bars, accessible sinks and much more, to ensure the accessibility of our lodge to various disabilities. Abilitas has partnered with New Beginnings to help ensure this. The lodge will also feature a spacious accessible kitchen for the guests to use and enjoy.

The Cold Water Ranch Lodge is designed to be a spacious lodge of approximately 10,000 sq ft. Perched on top of a mountain - calm, yet not isolated - the lodge overlooks the valley stretching out below and offers panoramic views of the mountain range surrounding the ranch. The Cold Water Ranch Lodge will accommodate 24 individuals, either as part of a disability organization or as families. Each family that will use the lodge will have private accessible bathroom facilities. Four families can use the lodge at once .

Camp Sites

As part of a future phase II of this initiative, the Abilitas Foundation intends for the Cold Water Ranch to also house accessible camp sites (with accessible bathroom facilities) for families or groups to use. Details regarding this development, as well as future opening and bookings of these sites will be posted on this website in due course .
