Mount Kilimanjaro Team Summits
[Abbotsford, 15/01-2010]
On the 2nd day of 2010, a group of 12 community leaders - including our own John Glazema & Darren Postma - rose to the challenge.
They embarked on a 7-day climb of Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. The campaign easily exceeded its $150,000 goal to help Power to Be run programs at the Cold Water Ranch Respite Lodge and led to many articles on the lodge in our local media: a great success!

"Our climb up Mount Kilimanjaro was a tough
challenge until the very last step! But the reward at the end made it all worth
it: we conquered that mountain.
And not only that. With every step, we raised money and brought awareness to the Cold Water Ranch Lodge and Abilitas. An awesome experience: I am so glad I could be a part of it!"

One in six BC residents has a permanent disability, whether this is a visual impairment, a spinal cord injury, or another kind of physical or cognitive impairment. Most of them live below the poverty line. Issues of cost and accessibility make much-needed respite and opportunities for outdoor recreation unattainable dreams for many families & individuals.
