MSA Society Hosts Benefit Dance
[Abbotsford, 25/10/2009]
Abilitas was more than excited when the Family Support Group of MSA Society for Community Living asked us if they could organize a dance to support the Lodge. Of course they could!
As parents of a child with a disability, the Family Support Group seeks to support initiatives like the Cold Water Ranch Lodge. "When we heard about the Lodge," says Arlene Schouten of MSA Society, "we jumped at the chance to get involved."
The group strongly believes in the Lodge. "Families need to be strengthened as families at a place apart from their regular daily routines, say parents Herman and Carol. The lodge will do just that and make it fully accessible too. "A completely accessible lodge that will house basic equipment too is sheer Nirvana," adds Jamie O.
The Group looks forward to using the lodge. The Fredricksons seems to speak for everybody when they say: "we can hardly wait for it to be open for us to go stay there!"
Thanks, MSA Family Support, for your amazing initiative & for raising more than $1000!

Did you realize...
One in six BC residents has a permanent disability, whether this is a visual impairment, a spinal cord injury, or another kind of physical or cognitive impairment. Most of them live below the poverty line. Issues of cost and accessibility make much-needed respite and opportunities for outdoor recreation unattainable dreams for many families & individuals.
